A website you can almost smell

Rub & Dab Barbeque serves low-and-slow smoked barbecue with Southern African influences at events, markets and festivals. The website needed to make people hungry, tell the story behind the food and bring in event bookings.

The brief

Rub & Dab Barbeque was established in Telford in 2023. It fuses smoked barbecue with party dishes from Southern Africa, using locally sourced produce, and takes its grill to birthdays, corporate events, festivals and community days.

Food businesses are chosen on appetite and personality. The website had to look as good as the food tastes, and make it easy for someone planning an event to ask about catering.

What the website had to do

  • Put the food front and centre
  • Tell the story behind the flavours
  • Turn interest into event enquiries

What we did

The decisions that shaped the project, and why we made them.

  • Signature dishes first

Smoked beef ribs, sticky glazed ribs, flame-grilled chicken and loaded sides are shown early, with photography doing the selling.

  • We bring the grill to you

A section on events and catering explains the mobile service and custom menus built around guest numbers, timings and dietary needs.

  • The story

An About page explains where the food comes from and what makes it different.

  • Gallery and Instagram feed

A gallery page and a live Instagram feed keep the site looking fresh between updates.

  • Clear calls to book

Calls to action throughout the site lead to the contact page, with WhatsApp and social links for quick questions.
